CellBios® is one of the leading companies in the world to offer bioreactors with filter in 6 different configurations from 2 L to 50 L. It is made up of multi layered PE film and Nylon filter material with a pore size of about 1.2µm. The type of filter that is used in a bioreactor will depend on the specific application. For example, depth filters are often used for prefiltration, while membrane filters are often used for sterile filtration.

Maintains sterility – Sterile filters are used to prevent contamination of the cell culture by microorganisms present in the air or culture media

APPLICATIONS

Inoculation and Cell Culture: Inoculation of a culture medium with the desired cells, such as yeast, bacteria, or mammalian cells in the Bioreactor Filter Bag. Cells grow and multiply in the Bioreactor Filter Bag under controlled conditions.

Product Formation:  When the cells grow and metabolize nutrients, they produce the desired product, which could be antibiotics, enzymes, proteins, or biofuels.

Recombinant Protein production: To produce insulin, growth factors, and hormones.

Harvesting: Once product reaches required concentration, the culture is harvested from the Bioreactor Filter Bag. Harvesting methods may involve centrifugation, filtration, or other separation techniques.

Downstream Processing: Purification, concentration, and formulation to produce the final product in a purified and stable form.

Vaccine production: Bioreactor Filter Bags are used to produce viral vaccines, recombinant subunit vaccines, and other types of vaccines for preventing infectious diseases.

Cell Expansion: Bioreactor Filter Bags are used to expand and grow therapeutic cells (stem cells/ immune cells). The controlled environment in the Bioreactor Filter Bag ensures optimal cell growth.
